A thorough investigation resulted in finding a self-sufficient tiny house. The efficient tiny house worked to ensure it wouldn’t use much energy. In the addition of a miniature power generator using solar panels to charge, the tiny house has a water filtration system to compensate for water shortages.  Focus the building’s orientation to help exposure allowing the sun to be an important source of heat during the winter. Using a cast iron wood burning stove would also serve in the months on a mountain side to keep the occupants warm and cozy.  A generous overhang prevents too much sun from baking the tiny home during summer, and a wind break from the snow in the winter. Install large wooden shutters that slide closed like a second skin over the windows at night to trap in most of the home’s daily heat gain. Surviving the winter and lasting the summer is not for the faint at heart in minimalist living. High on a hill and far from city water or an electrical grid, this tiny home stood on its own, surviving for the next year.
